Chemicals

Mahavir Group expertise in PVC industry and provide our clients with a variety of PVC additives like stabilizers, plasticizers, secondary plasticizers, impact modifiers, lubricants, and speciality additives. This provides our client base to have “One Source” for “Infinite Possibilities” and to count on the service, quality assurance and commitment that Mahavir Group is known for.

Stabilizers

PVC Stabilisers are added into PVC to prevent oxidation, chain scission, uncontrolled recombination, and cross-linking reactions caused by photo oxidation. Essentially, they protect PVC from the harmful effects of extreme temperature and ultraviolet radiation and help PVC products to show durability and increase mold stability.

Plasticizers

A plasticizer is a type of chemical compound that is added to a plastics & rubber to make it softer and more flexible, to increase its plasticity, to decrease its viscosity, or to decrease friction during its handling in manufacture. Almost 90% of polymer plasticizers, most commonly phthalate esters, are used in PVC, giving this material improved flexibility and durability.

Secondary Plasticizers

A secondary plasticizer isa type of plasticizer that cannot be used as the sole plasticizer in a plasticized polymer. They do not contain functional groups which allow them to solvate the polymer at processing temperatures. Their main purpose is to decrease costs.

Additives

A family of Acrylic and MBS copolymers, they act like rubber and improve tensile strength and impact strength to shock loads in Rigid PVC products. CPE (Chlorinated Polyethylene) is widely used as an Impact modifier in PVC Pipe.

Lubricants

Lubricants prevent hot PVC from sticking to metal surfaces while processing. Stearic Acid, Waxes including High Molecular waxes and many complex compounds are commonly used as lubricants for processing of PVC.

Speciality Additives

There are a wide variety of special additives which can be added to improve performance of the moulding. Special Acrylic Polymers aids in the processing of PVC by reducing the melt viscosity. They act as a combination of various additives like internal lubricants, external lubricants, foaming agents, secondary plasticizers, or a combination of these.

Pigments & Brighteners

Pigments & brighteners are a vast subject which are used to provide PVC with the desired colour. These include titanium dioxide, carbon black, optical brighteners and colour pigments which help to satisfy regulatory needs and distinguish the product from the market.
